English Rocks is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. butter flavored shortening, 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar, 3 eggs, 3 c. flour, sifted and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Cream shortening and sugar.
Beat in eggs.
Add sifted dry ingredients and buttermilk.
Mix well.
Pour batter over nuts and fruit and mix thoroughly.
Drop from teaspoon on baking sheet and bake at 325Β° for 20 to 25 minutes.
These keep well and can be frozen.
Makes a lot but are delicious.
