Elephant Ears
Elephant Ears is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. yeast, 2 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. shortening, 4 2/3 c. flour and 1/2 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add salt, 1/2 cup sugar, shortening and beaten egg, mixing together.
Stir in flour gradually until smooth.
Mixture does not have to rise.
Break into pieces the size of an egg and roll out in 1/4 inch thick rounds.
Deep fry.
Dust with sugar and cinnamon.
Makes 20 ears.
