Easy Chocolate Cake
A from-scratch chocolate cake whisked together in one bowl with cocoa, oil, and buttermilk. Tender crumb, deep chocolate flavor, and ready for any frosting you favor.
Combine water, shortening, margarine and cocoa in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until mixture comes boil. Combine flour and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add cocoa mixture, stirring well.
Stir in buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Pour batter into a greased and floured 13 x
1/4-inch pan. Bake at 400Β° for 20 minutes or until cake in pan completely. Spread Chocolate Nut Frosting on top.
