Sugar and shortening.
Sift together the flour, salt, nutmeg and baking powder.
Add the milk and vanilla. Mix all together.
Drop by small teaspoons into hot
(375Β°).
(Use 2 teaspoons, dropping them in hot fat first, to allow dough to slide off spoons easier.) Turn to brown evenly.
Lift out of fat with a slotted spoon. Dust with 10x sugar or glaze.
