Down South Pecan Pie
Down South Pecan Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with unbaked 9-inch pie shell, 1/2 c. butter or margarine, 1/2 c. granulated sugar, 3/4 c. white corn syrup and 1/4 c. maple flavored syrup or 2 tbsp. honey, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Heat oven to 350Β°.
Cream butter well.
Add sugar slowly, creaming until light.
Slowly stir in syrup, eggs, vanilla and 1 cup nuts.
Pour into shell.
Top with rest of nuts.
Bake for 55 minutes.
I cool pie crust for several hours before adding filling.
Serve small wedges with whipped cream flavored with sherry.
