Cream 1 package of regular or light (not whipped) cream cheese.
Add a little bit of mayonnaise, just to make the cream cheese spreadable.
Add 1 small can of crushed pineapple that has been well drained.
Add chopped dates and chopped pecans, until they look in equal portions to the cheese mixture.
Slice red and green apples, leaving the skins on.
Dip each slice in a mixture of citrus acid mixed with water or with fresh lemon juice, mixed with water.
Lightly wipe off slices with paper towels.
This prevents browning of the apple slices.
Place the spreadable dip in a bowl and in the middle of a large plate.
Arrange the slices in an attractive pattern around the dip.
