Dilly-Icious Chicken
Dilly-Icious Chicken is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 1/2 to 5 lb. chicken, cut up, 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, dash of pepper and 2 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Shake chicken pieces in flour, salt and pepper.
Place skin side down in single layer on baking sheet.
Dot with shortening. Bake 1/2 hour in 400Β° oven.
Turn chicken; baste with combination of melted butter, water and dill.
Bake another 1/2 hour, basting 2 or 3 times.
Turn oven off and keep chicken in oven another 40 minutes to crisp.
