Pack cucumbers in jars.

Bring 2 quarts water, 1 quart vinegar and 1/2 cup salt to a boil.

Slowly pour boiling liquid into jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.

Wipe jar rims clean and adjust lids.

Process in a boiling water bath for 20 minutes.

These pickles will be ready to eat in about 7 to 10 days.
