Dill Pickles
Dill Pickles is an moderately easy dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 12 minutes. Made with cucumbers, ice water, onion slices or clove of garlic, dill (fresh or dried) and c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Soak cucumbers in ice water 3 or 4 hours.
Drain.
Slice or cut into strips.
Place in sterilized jars, along with onion and a generous amount of dill.
Combine sugar, water, vinegar and salt and bring to a boil.
Pour over pickles and seal.
Store in 70° to 75° temperature until cucumbers look transparent, about 3 weeks. Makes 3 pints.
