Devil's Food Cake(Red)
Devil'S Food Cake(Red) is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, 2 eggs, 1 heaping tsp. soda, 2/3 c. cocoa, dissolved in 1/2 c. boiling water and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream butter; slowly add sugar.
Cream thoroughly.
Add well beaten eggs and soda, dissolved in a little hot water.
Also add cocoa, mixed with a little hot water.
Alternately, add sour milk and flour.
Mix to smooth batter; add vanilla.
Bake in moderate oven 35 to 40 minutes.
Use Boiled Frosting, same as frosting for Angel Food Cake.
