Devil's Food Cake
Devil'S Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. water, 1 1/2 tsp. soda, 1/2 c. cocoa, 1 stick butter and 4 tsp. crisco, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Mix water, soda and cocoa together and let stand.
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time.
Add flour and milk. Add vanilla, water, soda and cocoa mixture.
Let stand 1 minute. Add salt.
Bake in 3-inch pans for thick layers.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool before frosting with white or chocolate icing.
