Devil's Food Cake
Devil'S Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. soda, 2 c. sifted cake flour, 1/2 c. vegetable shortening and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Sift dry ingredients together.
Cream shortening.
Add sugar gradually and cream together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Add chocolate.
Add flour alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
Add vanilla.
Turn into two 9-inch pans lined on bottom with wax paper.
Bake in 350Β° oven approximately 30 minutes.
Spread with chocolate frosting.
