Sift first 4 ingredients together.
In large bowl, cream sugar, Crisco and egg yolks together.
Use a little of the flour mixture over the raisins and nuts.
Combine flour mixture and apples with creamed mixture.
Then add raisins and nuts.
Beat egg whites until they peak.
Fold in cake mixture.
Bake 1 hour at 350Β° in tube pan.
