Deep Dish Meat Pie
Deep Dish Meat Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. chopped potato, 1 c. chopped onions, 3 tbsp. margarine or butter, 1/3 c. all-purpose flour and 1/2 tsp. dried thyme, savory or sage, crushed, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Prepare pastry.
Roll pastry into a 12-inch circle.
Cover and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, cook potato and onion in margarine over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 5 to 6 minutes or until onion is tender, but not brown.
Stir in flour, herb and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.
Add broth all at once.
Stir in peas and carrots.
Cook and stir until bubbly.
Stir in meat.
