Deep Dish Apple Pie
Deep Dish Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, 1 tsp. nutmeg, 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Heat oven to 425Β°.
Stir together sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
Mix with apples.
Turn into an ungreased square 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Dot with butter.
Prepare pastry as directed except roll into 10-inch square.
Fold pastry in half. Cut slits near center.
Unfold edges under just inside edge of pan.
Bake 1 hour or until juice begins to bubble through slits in crust.
