Decadent Chocolate-Cherry Cake
Decadent Chocolate-Cherry Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (14.5 oz.) pkg. angel food cake mix, 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 (1.3 oz.) pkg. sugar-free instant chocolate flavored pudding mix, 2 c. skim milk and 1 1/2 c. pitted dark sweet cherries, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Prepare cake according to package directions, adding cocoa powder to dry ingredients.
While cake cools, prepare pudding mix according to package directions, using skim milk; cool.
Set aside 12 cherries for decoration.
Coarsely chop remaining cherries. Stir chopped cherries into cooled pudding; set aside.
Cut 1-inch slice off top of cooled cake; set slice aside.
Cut through 1 1/2 inches wide and 1 inch deep around top of cake; pull out and discard cake in trough.
Spoon pudding into trough; replace top of cake.
Sprinkle top of cake with confectioners sugar.
