Date Pudding Cake

Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Soak dates in hot water; do not drain.
Add remaining ingredients, except the whipped topping.
Mix well.
Pour into pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Cool and serve with Cool Whip.
