Date Nut Bread
Date Nut Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. dates, stoned, 1 1/2 c. boiling water, 2 tbsp. shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Cut dates in quarters and pour boiling water over them.
Add shortening, sugar and salt.
When cool, add beaten egg, flour sifted with soda and cream of tartar, nuts and vanilla.
Beat well.
Pour into greased and floured bread pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 1/4 hours.
Watch oven; do not get too hot.
