Date Nut Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, cut up, 2 tbsp. butter, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. boiling water and 1 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Pour boiling water over dates, butter and sugar.
Sift together flour, soda and salt; add to the date mixture.
Stir in egg and vanilla.
Mix thoroughly.
Add nuts.
Pour into a lightly greased loaf pan.
Bake at 375° for 5 minutes or slightly longer, then reduce heat to 300°.
Continue baking for 1 hour.
