Date Nut Bars
Date Nut Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. crisco shortening, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 c. flour and 1 c. chopped pecans, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Cream together shortening, sugars and eggs.
Stir in water and vanilla.
Stir in flour gradually, mixing well.
Mix in dates and nuts.
Press cookie dough into greased jelly roll pan (dough should be about 1/4-inch deep).
Bake at 350Β° until lightly browned.
(Do not overcook.
Dough in oven should still be slightly puffy looking.)
Cook 10 to 15 minutes.
Cut into bars.
