Date Nut Bars
Date Nut Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 c. butter or margarine and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Together flour, baking powder and salt.
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time and beat until light and fluffy.
Add vanilla.
Gradually blend in dry ingredients, beating well each addition.
Fold in dates and nuts. Spread evenly in a greased pan (7 x 11 x 1 1/2-inches).
Bake in a moderate minutes. When cool, cut into squares. (Can sprinkle top with 10x sugar.)
