Date Dessert Squares
Date Dessert Squares is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 8 oz. chopped dates, 3/4 c. water, 2 c. miniature marshmallows, 1 c. chopped nuts and 15 oreo cookies, rolled to crumbs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
π¨βπ³ Instructions
Bring water and dates to boil, turn down heat and simmer 3 minutes.
Cool mixture.
Melt marshmallows in microwave oven or on top of stove, do not cook too fast.
Mix dates, nuts and marshmallows.
Butter a 9 x 9-inch pan and pour 3/4 of Oreo cookie crumbs in pan, spread out.
Pour date mixture on cookie crumbs. Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.
When ready to serve, cut in squares and top with Cool Whip or whipped cream.
