Date Bars
Date Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. dates, 2 c. water, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour and 1 1/2 c. oatmeal, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cook the dates and water; cool slightly, then add the vanilla. Set this mixture aside.
Mix together the next 6 ingredients. Add the water and oil to dry ingredients.
Use a little more than half on the bottom of a lightly greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Cover with dates.
Spread the remainder on top.
Bake at 375Β° for 25 minutes.
