Danish Coffee Cake
Danish Coffee Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 yeast cake in 1/2 c. lukewarm water, 1 c. scalded milk, 1 c. shortening, 3 tbsp. sugar and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Put shortening, sugar, salt and flour in large bowl.
Mix as for pie crust.
Beat egg yolks, milk and yeast mixture.
Add to flour and beat well.
Divide into 4 parts and roll thin, about 11 inches long and 10 inches wide. Spread butter, brown sugar, nuts and almond paste onto the rolled out crust.
Fold both sides over and let rise until light.
Bake in 350Β° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
