Crisp Squares
Crisp Squares is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 sticks butter, 1 egg, separated, 1 c. sugar, 2 c. plain flour, sifted and 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolk and flour.
Beat well and spread dough evenly in jelly roll pan (15 x 10-inch).
Beat egg white slightly.
Brush top of dough with egg.
Smooth with fingertips.
Sprinkle with nuts over dough and press in.
Do not grease pan.
Bake at 275Β° for 1 hour.
While hot, cut squares to keep from crumbling.
