Crab-Filled Phyllo Bites
Crab-Filled Phyllo Bites is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (6 oz.) can crabmeat, drained, flaked and cartilage removed, 1/4 c. crushed shredded wheat wafers (6 crackers), 1/2 tsp. onion powder, 1/2 c. melted butter and 1/2 c. shredded swiss cheese, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
For filling
In a medium mixing bowl, combine crab, cheese, mushrooms, crushed wafers, parsley, onion powder and pepper. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of the butter.
Toss to mix.
Set aside. Unfold phyllo; spread one of the sheets flat.
Brush with butter. Top with another sheet.
(Cover remaining phyllo sheets with a damp towel or Saran Wrap while working.)
Cut stack of buttered phyllo lengthwise into fourths and crosswise into fifths.
You will have 20 (3 1/4-inch) squares.
