Cornmeal Batter Rolls
Cornmeal Batter Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal, 1 pkg. active dry yeast, 1 tsp. baking powder and 3/4 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

In large mixer bowl, combine 3/4 cup of the flour, the cornmeal, yeast and baking powder.
Heat and stir together milk, shortening, sugar and salt just until warm (115° to 120°) until shortening almost melts.
Add to dry ingredients in mixer bowl; add egg.
Beat on low speed of electric mixer 1/2 minute, scraping bowl.
Beat 3 minutes at high speed.
At low speed, beat in remaining flour 2 minutes or until smooth.
To mix and bake the same day, let batter rise 1 hour; drop into muffin pans and let rise 45 minutes.
