Cornbread Pie
Cornbread Pie is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 1 large onion, chopped, 1 c. tomato soup, 2 c. water and 1 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Brown ground beef and onion in skillet.
Add soup and water, 1 teaspoon salt, pepper, chili powder, corn, green pepper and mix well.
Simmer 15 minutes and pour into a greased casserole dish. Sift the cornmeal, sugar, flour and remaining salt and baking powder into a bowl.
Add egg and milk; stir lightly.
Add fat and mix.
Spread over beef mixture and bake at 350Β° for 18 to 20 minutes.
