Congo Squares
Congo Squares is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 c. shortening, 1/2 tsp. salt and 2 1/4 c. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt.
Melt shortening; add brown sugar, stirring constantly.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Add dry ingredients, then nuts and bits.
Pour in greased 10 x 15-inch pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
Makes 48 squares.
