Congo Squares
Congo Squares is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 3/4 c. sifted flour, 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2/3 c. butter and 1 lb. pkg. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt.
Melt butter and add to brown sugar.
Stir until well mixed.
Allow to cool slightly.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
Mix well.
Pour into greased pan, 11 x 15-inch.
Bake at 350Β° for 20 to 30 minutes. When almost cool, cut into squares.
