Coconut Cake
Coconut Cake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 44 minutes. Made with c. cake flour, c. sugar, c. shortening, c. milk and eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Preheat oven to 375Β°.
Prepare two 9-inch cake pans.
In large bowl beat first 8 ingredients with mixer at low speed.
Then beat at medium for 5 minutes.
Pour into pans and bake approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
Over medium heat, heat syrup to boiling.
Beat egg whites to soft peaks.
Slowly pour in hot syrup, beating until mixture is fluffy.
Add salt and vanilla.
Ice cakes and sprinkle with coconut.
