Combine the first 5 ingredients and stir well. Combine egg, milk and vanilla; stir well.
Stir into flour mixture.
Cover and let stand for 15 minutes.
Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 325Β° for 60 to 70 minutes. Test with pick.
Let cool in pan for 10 minutes.
Remove and cool on rack. Makes 1 loaf.
