Blend the first 4 ingredients together.
Blend the next 4 ingredients.
Alternate egg mixture with flour mixture and with the buttermilk.
Add the coconut flakes and, if desired, the nuts. Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour.
Makes one loaf.
Add topping, if desired.
