Cinnamon Twists
Cinnamon Twists is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. sour cream, 3 tbsp. sugar, 1/8 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. salt and 1 pkg. yeast, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Heat sour cream to lukewarm.
Stir in sugar, soda and salt. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
Add egg, shortening and flour.
Knead gently.
Turn dough onto floured board.
Roll into an oblong, 24 x 6-inches.
Spread with 2 tablespoons butter and sprinkle half lengthwise with mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon. Fold other half over.
Cut into 3/4-inch strips and twist each strip.
Place on greased baking sheet pressing both ends of twists to baking sheet.
Cover and let rise until double, about 1 hour. Bake at 375Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Frost, when cool, with mixture of powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, extract and 1 to 2 tablespoons warm water.
