Chris' Caramels
Chris' Caramels is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. light corn syrup, 1/2 c. milk, 4 tbsp. butter or margarine and 1 c. evaporated milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

All the ingredients, except the vanilla, to the soft ball stage, or 235Β°.
Remove from heat; add vanilla and pour into a buttered 8-inch pan.
When cold, turn out and cut into squares. Wrap each square individually in wax paper or plastic wrap.
For chocolate caramels, use 1/2 cup evaporated milk and 3 squares chocolate.
