Chow Chow is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c green tomatoes, 8 c chopped cabbage, 1 1/2 c chopped onions, 2 c vinegar and 1 tsp black pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Add vinegar, black pepper, sugar, and salt to green tomatoes, cabbage and the onions.
Tie up clove and allspice in cloth, drop in mixtures and add water if needed to cook for 1 hour or until tender.
