Chow-Chow is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 qt. chopped cabbage, 12 medium cucumbers, 8 to 10 small onions, 12 green tomatoes and 12 sweet peppers (red and green), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Chop all vegetables; set aside.

Place sugar and vinegar (use equal amounts, 1 cup sugar to 1 cup vinegar) in large kettle. Bring to boil.

Add turmeric (1 teaspoon).

Add chopped vegetables.

Make sure you mix enough sugar and vinegar to cover vegetables.

Bring back to rolling boil.

Pack in jars and seal. Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.

Good with soup beans.
