Cream together butter and shortening.
Add sugar and cream. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each one.
Add vanilla. Sift all dry ingredients together.
Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to creamed mixture.
Bake in 10-inch tube pan at 325Β° for 80 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
Let cool 5 minutes before turning out of pan.
