Chocolate Pound Cake
Chocolate Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. food lion plain flour, 3 1/2 c. food lion sugar, 1/2 c. food lion cocoa, 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/2 c. shortening and 2 sticks butter or 3 sticks margarine (i use 3 sticks food lion brand butter), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream butter; add sugar and add eggs one at a time.
Sift dry ingredients.
Add baking powder and salt to dry ingredients and add alternately with milk.
Add vanilla and cocoa (I sift the cocoa before putting in cake).
Cook in greased and floured pan at 325Β° for 1 hour and 25 minutes in tube pan.
Makes 16 or 17 servings.
