Chocolate Pie
Chocolate Pie is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 18 minutes. Made with c. sugar, c. milk, egg yolks (save whites for meringue), vanilla and rounded tbsp. cocoa, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Mix sugar, flour and cocoa.
Melt butter in iron skillet. (Be sure to use iron skillet.)
Add sugar mixture to melted butter.
Beat egg yolks. Add milk and beat together.
Add this, a little at a time, to sugar mixture in skillet, stirring constantly.
Cook slowly. When thick enough, add vanilla.
Place in baked deep dish pie shell. Top with meringue.
Place in slow oven at 325Β° until meringue is brown.
