Mix the first 5 ingredients in saucepan and cook over low heat. Let come to a bubbling boil and cook 4 minutes.
Add and blend vanilla, oatmeal and nuts.
Drop by teaspoon on waxed paper.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
