Chocolate Mousse
Chocolate Mousse is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 2 hours 10 minutes. Made with . nestle semi-sweet chocolate morsels, . cold water, . sugar, eggs, separated and pt. heavy cream, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Make one day in advance!
Line bottom of spring-form pan with wax paper (trace pan bottom onto wax paper; cut and fit into pan bottom).
Melt chocolate morsels and 6 tablespoons water in double boiler.
Add sugar.
Remove from heat.
Add 6 egg yolks.
Beat egg whites until stiff.
Fold into chocolate mixture.
(Do in large bowl.)
Beat 1 pint heavy cream, adding vanilla.
Fold into chocolate mixture.
Line bottom and sides of pan with ladyfingers (there will be a couple of leftover ones) to form picket fence. Chill overnight.
Two hours before serving, beat 1/2 pint heavy cream with 2 tablespoons sugar.
Pour over mousse, then sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles immediately before serving.
