Made with 1/3 c. butter, softened, 2 1/4 c. sifted powdered sugar, 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. milk, 2 tsp. cherry liqueur and 2 (10 oz.) jars maraschino cherries with stems, drained, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Beat butter until creamy; gradually add powdered sugar.
Add milk and liqueur.
Mix until blended.
Shape sugar mixture around cherries.
Coat completely and put on wax paper.
Microwave chocolate in 2-cup glass measuring cup at High 1 1/2 minutes or until melted.
Dip coated cherries by stems into chocolate.
Allow excess to drip off.
Place on wax paper.
Let stand until firm.
Store loosely covered in cool place 1 week or until centers soften.
