Preheat oven to 375Β°.
Cream Crisco, sugars, egg and vanilla together in large bowl.
Combine flour, salt and baking soda. Blend in sugar mixture.
Blend in water.
Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by level tablespoonful 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 minutes.
Makes 3 dozen.
