Mix sugar, egg and salt together; then add milk, flour and baking powder.
Beat well; to this add cocoa that has been melted in butter.
Beat well; add vanilla, hot water and baking soda.
The batter will be thin, but this is a quick easy recipe.
Bake in moderate oven until done.
