Chocolate Bavarian
Chocolate Bavarian is a chilled layered dessert with a buttery pecan crust, sweet cream-cheese filling, smooth chocolate pudding, and a cloud of whipped topping. It eats like a no-fuss icebox Bavarian cream, with crunchy nuts balancing the cool chocolate layers.
Mix the flour, margarine or butter, and chopped pecans until crumbly, then press into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake the crust at 350 F for about 15 minutes and cool it completely.
Beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth, then fold in 1 cup whipped topping.
Spread the cream-cheese layer over the cooled crust.
Prepare the chocolate pudding with cold milk according to the package directions and chill until thickened.
Spread the pudding over the cream-cheese layer, top with additional whipped topping, and sprinkle with pecans before chilling until set.
