In large bowl, stir together cereal and nuts; set aside.
In 2-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Stir in sugar and syrup.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a full boil.
Continue cooking until mixture reaches soft ball stage (candy thermometer will read 238Β°).
Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
Toss candy mixture with cereal and nuts.
Spread evenly onto buttered cookie sheet.
Cool completely; break into clusters.
