Chess Squares is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 box butter flavored cake mix, 1 egg, 1/2 c. margarine, melted, 3 more eggs and 1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Grease and flour 9x13 inch baking dish.
Mix first 3 ingredients and spread with a spatula in the bottom of baking dish.
Mix the next 4 ingredients, beating well and pour on top of cake mixture.
Spread evenly. Bake at 450 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
Cool and cut into squares.
