Cherry Winks
Cherry Winks is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. sifted cake flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. salt and 3/4 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift together cake flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Combine shortening and sugar.
Cream well.
Add eggs, then add milk and vanilla.
Blend in dry ingredients.
Mix well.
Add pecans, dates and cherries.
Shape into balls.
Crush corn flakes and roll each ball in flakes.
Top each cookie with 1/4 of a maraschino cherry.
Bake at 350° to 375° for 10 to 12 minutes.
