Cherry Winks
Cherry Winks is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 1/4 c. sifted flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 1/2 tsp. salt and 3/4 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Combine shortening and sugar; mix well.
Blend in eggs; add milk and vanilla.
Blend in sifted dry ingredients; mix well.
Add pecans, dates and cherries; mix well.
Shape into balls using 1 tablespoon dough for 1 cookie.
Roll each ball of dough in cornflakes.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Top each cookie with 1/4 cherry.
Bake in moderate oven at 375Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Do not stack or store until cold.
Makes 5 dozen cookies.
